Warranty Terms

Grupo Lafayette, an authorized Gulf distributor in Panama, sells automotive products and accessories, hardware, and hand and power tools. These products are sold under agreements with international manufacturers and comply with the country’s applicable technical and safety requirements.

LEGAL WARRANTY

In accordance with Law 45 of 2007 on Consumer Protection in Panama, all products have a minimum legal warranty of three (3) months for manufacturing defects, counted from the date of delivery. However, in most cases, products have extended warranties provided by the manufacturer (up to 3 years, depending on the product).

The warranty does not cover:

Damage due to misuse, negligence, or improper handling.
Damage due to unauthorized installation or electrical accidents.

Natural wear and tear, perishable parts, or consumables.
Products tampered with, modified, or repaired by unauthorized third parties.

To validate the warranty, the customer must retain the original proof of purchase and contact our service center. If the manufacturer offers additional warranties, their specific conditions must be met.

In all cases, the manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions will prevail.

SHIPPING

Grupo Lafayette, as an official Gulf distributor, ships wholesale to companies, distributors, and authorized customers in Panama and other countries, in accordance with previously agreed-upon logistics conditions.

General Shipping Conditions:

Shipping costs and conditions will be informed and quoted based on the destination, volume, and logistics method (sea, land, or air).
Deliveries will be made through certified logistics operators, depending on the destination country.
Delivery times may vary depending on the country, customs, and logistics operator.
Grupo Lafayette will notify the customer of the status and tracking of the order once it has been confirmed and shipped.

Important:

The customer is responsible for any duties, import taxes, or customs fees in the destination country.
Deliveries will be made on business days, excluding holidays.
Any irregularities upon receipt must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.

PAYMENT METHODS

Commercial transactions made through the Gulf | Grupo Lafayette website are intended exclusively for duly registered corporate clients, distributors, and wholesalers.

The available payment methods are:

Direct bank transfer to the corporate account indicated in the quote and/or pro forma invoice.
Payment by corporate credit or debit card, through secure payment gateways enabled by Gulf | Grupo Lafayette (conditions apply depending on the customer’s country).
Advance payment of 100% of the quoted amount, except for special agreements formalized in writing.
In some cases, trade credit may be offered, subject to financial evaluation and prior approval.

Important:
All payments must be validated before processing the shipment. Cash or cash-on-delivery payments are not accepted. Transactions are billed in US dollars (USD). The customer is responsible for any fees associated with international transfers, if applicable.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Given the B2B nature of our operations, returns and refunds will be processed under the following conditions:

Returns for withdrawal or change of mind are not accepted once the order has been confirmed and the pro forma invoice has been issued.
Returns will only be accepted for products that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect, and must be reported within 48 hours of receipt.
The return request must be submitted in writing to the sales department, attaching photographic evidence and the corresponding order number.
If the return is validated, the customer may choose:
a) Replacement of the product at no additional cost.
b) Credit note for use on future purchases.
c) Refund (only if a replacement is not possible), processed within 15 business days.

Important:

Products must be unused, in their original packaging, and with all accessories included.
The customer is responsible for coordinating and covering return shipping costs, unless there is an error attributable to Gulf | Grupo Lafayette.
Modified, used, or products without delivery documentation will not be accepted.

 

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations are only accepted if the order has not been shipped. If the product has already been shipped, it must be processed as a return according to the terms above.
